Home Words Bound Community Art Project
NCCWN in collaboration with Barbara O’Meara Artist (https://barbaraomearaartist.com/) invites the women of Ireland to write in their own words of their experiences of living with the Covid 19 Pandemic. Experiences of Lockdown, Grief, Bereavement, Isolation, Relationships, Domestic Abuse, Family, Parenting, Living Conditions, Accommodation, Direct Provision, Nursing Homes, Financial Issues, Physical Health, Mental Health, Trauma, Loneliness, Employment and more.
Visual Artist Barbara O’ Meara will select from the writing and paint images of the experiences described. This Community Art Project will culminate in an exhibition of all the writing and art together with a publication. All writing will be anonymous to allow women complete safety and freedom to honestly write their thoughts, feelings and emotions. This is a unique opportunity to record the social history of women in Ireland living with Covid 19.
This project is open to all women living in Ireland. It is not about grammar, punctuation or neat handwriting nor is it an essay writing competition; it is about your emotions and life changing experiences of living during a global pandemic.
Guidelines: Write up to 400 words on A5 size sheet of paper or a postcard describing your life during Covid 19 pandemic. Sign with age & initial or first name only.
