Job Opportunity: WCI – Mullingar full-time Coordinator
Women’s Collective Ireland (WCI) are recruiting a full-time Coordinator to coordinate the work in Women’s Community Projects Mullingar (35 hours per week).
Women’s Collective Ireland (WCI) is a national women’s community development organisation advancing marginalised women’s equality through women’s community development. WCI represents and works directly with women experiencing disadvantage, through our staff in 17 Women’s Community Development Projects and National structures.
Women’s Community Projects (WCP) is a Mullingar-based charitable organisation whose mission is to facilitate the empowerment of women through education, training and community enterprise development. WCP also provides childcare and counselling services as part of its mission.
WCI invites applications from suitably qualified, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals for the position of Coordinator based in WCP, Bishopsgate Street, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, N91 AWH7.
Employed by the Women’s Collective Ireland Board of Management, the Coordinator will work in partnership with the Board of WCP to coordinate the day-to-day management and development of WCI and WCP operations at local level. The Coordinator will implement the aims, objectives and agreed areas of work outlined in the Women’s Collective Ireland Strategic Plan that supports women’s equality.
The successful candidate will have:
A relevant third level qualification or equivalent
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in community development coordination which includes working with women’s groups and related issues.
Strong staff management experience
Experience of collaborating with diverse stakeholders, groups, and individuals.
Conflict management skills
An understanding of grassroots feminism and the ability to use a community development approach, be a reflective practitioner and to operate from feminist principles.
Excellent communication, coordination and report writing skills.
The ability to maintain the ethos of WCI and WCPM across staff, participants, Boards of Management and volunteers.
Own transport essential
