Women’s Collective Ireland Welcome Visitors from Boston
Women’s Collective Ireland recently welcomed visitors from Tufts University, Boston.
The group from Boston, were members of Tufts University’s Women in International Relations, founded in 2019 to explore opportunities for women in international relations (IR). WIIR aims to strengthen the IR female community at Tufts through mentorship and networking events, they strive to build a safe space for dialogue, empowerment, and career-building.
WIIR had the opportunity to visit several of WCI’s Community Development Projects including WCI Ronanstown, WCI Liffey Valley, as well as WCI’s Central Office in Dublin. Upon arrival, the team were greated by WCI Ronanstown Coordinator Sinead Mahon, WCI Liffey Valley Project Worker Natasha Moore, before finally being introduced to WCI’s National Team Vivienne Glanville (National Programme Coordinator) and Jessica Dalton (National Communications Officer.
The group had decided to travel to Ireland on a research visit where they then connected with various advocacy and community led organisations. During their visit, WIIR learned about WCI’s history, our work supporting marginalised women, as well as hearing about the work of WCI’s 17 Community Development Projects and how they are best placed to serve their local communities needs.
Each visitor received a copy of WCI’s Grassroots Women’s Manifesto, the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, as well as WCI’s Weaving All Island Connections booklet. A huge thank you to the group for visiting us, and to staff of Women’s Collective Ireland who provided a warm welcome.
