WCI Donegal

Women’s Collective Donegal is a grassroots community project in Donegal, prompting and supporting women’s empowerment, equality and human rights. We work to bring a ‘gender lens’ to mainstream community and local development initiatives. Providing supportive and friendly spaces for women to come together for social activities and community education opportunities.

We respond to the needs of women through a range of programmes and activities and have been in operation for over 20 years (formally as NCCWN Donegal Women’s Network). The courses, events and workshops we run for women are diverse and cover a range of topics and interests including;

·      Crafting

·      Health and Wellbeing

·      Menopause talks

·      DIY

And much more.

Testimonials

"I first heard about the Women's Collective Donegal from my Irish neighbor, she recommended joining the collective for a quicker adjustment to Ireland and to make friends with the locals. I thought at the time: "Women's meeting...what could be so interesting to spend time with...just another hen's talking about nothing." When I once again heard about WCI from our Speaking Club volunteers, I decided to go to the meeting to check it out. And oh, my God, I was so wrong. Being surrounded by women with an active life position, I felt at home. It's fun, warm, deep, and meaningful. It really supports and inspires faith in yourself to move mountains. Women of different regions and countries - unite! We really have the power to impact this world when we are together. Thank you WCI-Donegal for all those unforgettable moments of colourful master class and I always look forward to coming to you again." - Svitlana Voitsekhovska.
