Some upcoming courses and workshops happening in WCI Limerick.
Representing Women – 10-week course – online
On Tuesday Feb 6th WCI Limerick next round of Representing Women begins. This will run for 10 weeks, every Tuesday from 7pm – 9pm via zoom. Representing Women aims to increase and strengthen women’s participation and representation in local politics and leadership roles. The first section covers developing resilience, increasing self-confidence, clear communication, setting boundaries and taking up space. The second section will cover topics such as the role of a Councillor, the role / structure of the Local Council, how policies are made, lobbying and active citizenship, role of Senators / TDs and structure of Seanad and Dail and Government Departments, and International and European Agreements. Women and Politics Workshop – Feb 10th – one day in person
This event has been designed to support first time Local Election Candidates and their teams. It is also open to women who want to learn more about local politics and/or support a woman to run for election. It is a great opportunity to prepare for the campaign season ahead. The workshop takes place on Saturday, Feb 10th in a Limerick city venue from 9:30am – 4:15pm. Topics covered will include political strategy, canvassing guide, political messaging, working with the media, working with photographers and minding yourself during the campaign. Women’s Monthly Social Hour – Thursday Jan 25th 11am – 1pm and 6pm – 8pm
Join WCI Limerick for their first of our monthly get togethers in 2024!
The Women’s Social Hour will take place the fourth Thursday of each month from 11am – 1pm and again from 6pm – 8pm. This will be a social space where women can get together and chat, learn, laugh and share experiences. Each month will have a different theme. The January Women’s Social Hour takes place on Thursday the 25th and will include the launch of the Women’s Collective Ireland National Women’s Manifesto!
There is no need to register to just drop by between 11am – 1pm or 6pm – 8pm.
